Celebrating Gratitude and Community at the Moss Point Senior Center this November

Where friendship, wellness, and thanksgiving fill every day with purpose

As autumn paints the Gulf Coast in golden hues, the Moss Point Senior Center is preparing for a month filled with laughter, movement, and heartfelt gratitude. November’s calendar is more than a list of events; it is a reflection of community, care, and connection, a reminder that every season brings opportunities to grow closer and give thanks.

A Month Built on Friendship and Fun

Every week, the center comes alive with activity. From balloon volleyball and corn hole to bingo, word puzzles, and table games, there is never a dull moment. Seniors gather not just for recreation, but for fellowship, a chance to share stories, smiles, and memories that bridge generations.

For those who like to stay active, Chair Exercise and Walking and Stretching sessions are woven throughout the month, offering an easy and enjoyable way to keep both body and mind strong. These sessions promote movement and mobility while creating an encouraging environment where seniors can support one another in their wellness journeys.

Honoring Veterans and Giving Thanks

November is a time to reflect on service and gratitude. The center will host Honoring Our Veterans with Cindy from Aetna on November 13, a special event dedicated to celebrating the men and women who have served our nation with courage and sacrifice.

Later in the month, the celebration continues with Thanksgiving themed activities and luncheons that embody the season’s spirit of togetherness. The City of Moss Point’s Thanksgiving Luncheon, held at Pelican Landing, will bring friends and neighbors together for a warm meal and fellowship, a moment to pause and give thanks for the blessings that unite the community.

Creativity, Connection, and Care

The Moss Point Senior Center is more than a place to gather; it is a place to belong. From crafts hosted by the Jackson George Regional Library to special programs led by Charlotte Bardwell, every event is designed to inspire creativity and build meaningful relationships. The month concludes with lighthearted fun like the Penny Auction with Jeff from Humana, reminding everyone that joy often comes from the simplest moments shared with others.

A Community That Cares

The heart of the Moss Point Senior Center beats with the mission of Community Action of South Mississippi to empower lives and strengthen communities. By providing programs that nurture physical health, mental well-being, and social connection, the center ensures that seniors across South Mississippi have a vibrant and welcoming place to call their own.

As the year draws to a close, November’s calendar stands as a testament to the power of community. Gratitude grows when shared, and at the Moss Point Senior Center, every smile, every handshake, and every shared meal tells a story of belonging.
