CASOMS provides free programs and services to help families and individuals across South Mississippi find stability, build independence, and move forward.
Whether you need help with energy bills, food, childcare, a ride, or just don't know where to start, you're in the right place. Every service is free for eligible residents.

Free early education for children birth to 5. Classroom learning, nutrition, health screenings, and family support.
Affordable childcare for ages 1 to 12. Toddler care, Pre-K, afterschool, and summer programs. Open 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Help paying your home energy bills. Covers electric, gas, and energy crisis situations for eligible families.
Free groceries for Jackson and George County residents. Walk in Monday through Friday with a photo ID and social security card.
Daily activities, hot meals, and transportation for adults 60 and older. Centers in Moss Point and Ocean Springs.
Door to door rides within Jackson County for seniors and eligible residents. All buses are wheelchair accessible.
Free workshops on budgeting, credit, debt, and savings. Resources to help you build financial stability.
Free tax preparation from IRS certified volunteers. Get help filing your return and claiming credits you may be owed.
Supportive classes for parents and caregivers. Build skills and connect with other families in your community.
Head Start, childcare, and afterschool programs give kids a strong start.
Our food pantry serves thousands of families across Jackson and George counties each year.
Daily activities, hot meals, and transportation keep our seniors connected and independent.
Most CASOMS programs are funded through the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), a federal program that supports community action agencies nationwide. CSBG is the backbone of our work, funding direct services and case management for families working toward stability.
Additional funding comes from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Head Start grants, and other federal and state sources. Every dollar goes toward helping people in our community.
