Accessibility Statement

Community Action of South Mississippi (CASOMS) is committed to ensuring that all individuals, including people with disabilities, have full and equal access to our programs, services, activities, and digital content.

We believe accessibility is a fundamental right. Our goal is to remove barriers so that every person we serve can participate fully in everything CASOMS offers.

Our Standard: This website is designed and maintained to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines are the internationally recognized benchmark for web accessibility.

This statement was last updated in April 2026.

Measures We Take

CASOMS takes the following steps to ensure accessibility across our programs, services, and digital content:

  • Designated ADA Coordinator

Our Executive Director serves as the ADA Coordinator responsible for overseeing accessibility compliance across all CASOMS programs and services.

  • Accessibility Built Into Design

We incorporate accessibility requirements from the start of every project, not as an afterthought. Our website is built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards from the ground up.

  • Assistive Technology Testing

We test our website with screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other assistive technologies to verify that content is usable for everyone.

  • Staff Training

CASOMS staff receive training on accessibility best practices, including how to create accessible documents and communicate effectively with individuals who have disabilities.

  • Alternative Formats

We provide documents and materials in alternative formats upon request, including large print, audio, Braille, and electronic versions.

  • Formal Complaint Procedure

We maintain a documented process for anyone to report accessibility barriers or file a discrimination complaint. Every complaint is investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
